Our Mission: The SPE Foundation supports the development of plastics professionals by funding quality educational programs, grants, and scholarships.

The PlastiVan® Program is a great way to WOW and excite young people about the science and vast opportunities the plastics industry has to offer. The PlastiVan® program travels to schools and companies throughout North America, educating people of all ages about plastics chemistry, history, processing, manufacturing, sustainability and applications.

The SPE Foundation offers numerous scholarships to students who have demonstrated or expressed an interest in the plastics industry. They must be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This would include, but is not limited to, plastics engineering, polymer science, chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, and industrial engineering.

Through its educational grants program, the SPE Foundation strives to provide students of all ages with the means to explore the science and technology of plastics and polymers. Giving is aimed at programs and projects at educational institutions to benefit the members of the Society of Plastics Engineers, the plastics industry, and the general public.

The HOP™ (Hands on Plastics™) science education kit contains everything you need to implement a thorough and engaging investigation into the chemistry and the characteristics of plastics. Students learn first-hand that scientists and engineers have the ability to solve problems and produce products with plastics to meet the needs of people everywhere.
